11 Ketotestosterone ELISA Kit
Intended Use For in-vitro research use. The 11-ketotestosterone ELISA KIT is to be used for quantitative determination of 11-ketotestosterone levels in fish serum. Introduction 11-Ketotestosterone (11-KT) is an oxidized form of testosterone that contains a keto group at position-11. It is related to adrenosterone (11-ketoandrostenedione), an androgen found in trace quantities in humans. In fish, 11-KT functions as the endogenous androgenic sex hormone. Detection of the 11-KT, has been successfully used for sex determination in a variety of fish species. Plasma levels of 11-KT are significantly higher in males than in females fish in general. The 11-KT has been demonstrated to be a potent androgen in most fish species studied, and its plasma levels are known to correlate with the male gonadosomatic index with an increase during spermiation
